Satellite Information

There are 4 sites across the city hosting out of hours appointments to support primary care in Sheffield, they operate between 6 pm to 10 pm weekdays and 10 am to 6 pm weekends.

If you have to call the Surgery when it is closed, the call will be diverted to the out of hours service, or if you call 111 and you need to see a doctor or nurse urgently, you may be offered an appointment at one of the sites.

The Crookes Practice, along with two other practices in other parts of the city and a further site at the Northern General Hospital, are open for extended hours in the evening and weekends for urgent, booked appointments.

The initial selection of the sites was made by asking all the GP practices in the city to consider being one of the four sites planned. Whilst there was no specific public consultation at this stage with any local communities, because no decisions had been made as to where the sites would be, public and patients have been involved from the outset through the Citizens Reference Group and Healthwatch.

The criteria for selecting the sites did include accessibility to public transport links and adequate parking and disabled access.
