Our Practice Nurse advises on a range of health matters and gives vaccinations, checks blood pressure, syringes ears, remove stitches, dresses wounds and helps monitor long-term illnesses such as asthma and diabetes. When booking with the Nurse, please inform the receptionist what the appointment is for so that the appropriate length of time can be allocated.

The Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. She supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Debbie is our Head Receptionist and is also a trained Phlebotomist.  Debbie runs a phlebotomy clinic on a Monday morning.

The community midwife runs an ante-natal clinic on alternate Wednesdays from 13:00 – 15:00 to provide ante-natal care and support to expectant mums. She will be happy to discuss your wishes for your care and confinement and will make all the necessary arrangements. Most ante-natal care is shared between the Primary Care Team and the Hospital. Please ring the surgery to make an appointment for our ante-natal clinic. To contact a midwife at all other times, please ring 0114 2268301.

A team of district nurses works closely with the Practice providing a range of services to patients who are housebound and unable to attend surgery for treatment. Referrals to the district nurses are normally made by the hospitals or the GPs.

The Health Visitor holds clinics at the following place/time:

Ecclesall Library (120 Ecclesall Rd South) – 1^st & 3^rd Wednesday of each month 10am – 11.30 no appointment needed.

St Luke’s Church (Blackbrook Road) – Every Tuesday 10am – 11.30 – no appointment needed.

A Health Visitor and Nursery Nurse are present at these sessions.

Counselling services are available at the Practice each Wednesday. If you have a problem which you think may be helped by counselling, please make an initial appointment with the GP who will refer you to the relevant therapist as appropriate.
